In downtown Albuquerque you can enjoy fine art galleries, more eclectic and casual cafe galleries, street art like the mural at the left, vendors in the  4th Street Mall selling paintings, public art, historic buildings, and much more. Check it out!

Albuquerque is a unique combination of old and new, part frontier town and part cosmopolitan city. It is a blend of diverse cultures, people, styles and, of course, art.

Spend a leisurely afternoon in the newly developing Central Arts District, enjoying the history and admiring the art of Albuquerque. Begin with lunch at either the Mesa Azul Gallery Cafe or Sauce Liquid Lounge. Then wander through the fine art galleries featuring both traditional and very contemporary art - for the novice art buyer and the seasoned collector alike. Now - click here for a map and list of galleries and be sure to let us know how you enjoyed your Art Walk.

The Central Arts District began with a dream - in spring of 2001 Magnifico hosted a public forum to explore turning downtown Albuquerque and its empty buildings into a concentrated arts district. Over 600  community members joined arts groups and architects to explore concepts and designs. Since then several new arts venues have opened up downtown and organizers have been working hard to do something that has never been done before - to create a sustainable arts district which keeps the arts as an integral part or downtown long after revitalization is achieved.

In the 4th Street Mall between Central and Copper you will meet musicians, artists and street vendors taking advantage of Albuquerque's year-around good weather.
