Lilies, Wheels and Clouds opened at Coleman Gallery Contemporary Art (www.colemancontemporary.com) Feb. 2 featuring Page Coleman, Scott Krichau, Andrew Speer. Runs through Mar. 29. Scott is one of our Local Treasures artists.

David Snow shows his unusual enamels at Sumner & Dene (www.sumnerdene.com) in downtown Albuquerque.

Allan Rosenfield: Both Ways – a show of “Kimono” pieces made of draped canvas painted on two sides, opened at artspace116 (www.artspace116.org)  February 15 and continues through April 4.

Ceramic Sculpture by Archer Dougherty opens at Matrix Fine Art (www.matrixfineart.com) Mar. 7 and runs through Mar. 29.

Odyssey: Etchings by Ray Maseman opens at New Grounds Gallery (www.newgroundsprintshop.com) Mar. 7 and continues through Mar. 29.

Giving Shelter opens at 516 ARTS (www.516arts.org) Mar. 1 and continues through Mar. 29. Giving Shelter is an invitational exhibition of local, regional and national artists on the theme of giving shelter in conjunction with The Cradle Project, a fund raising art project for orphaned children in Africa. Curated by Deborah Gavel.

The New Mexico Wood Turners open at Arts Alliance Gallery (www.abqarts.org) Feb. 29, continuing through Mar. 31.

Sight Seeings opens at Coleman Gallery Contemporary Art (www.colemancontemporary.com) April 5 featuring Carol Sanchez, Susan Bryant, Will Johnson and Chalo Guevara. Show continues through May 24.

Houses, New Prints by Robert Kipniss opens with an Artscrawl reception April 18 and continues through June 1 at Palette Contemporary Art and Craft (www.palettecontemporary.com)

The New Mexico Bead Society displays at Arts Alliance Gallery (www.abqarts.org) April 4-28.

In April Weems Gallery brings Dee Sanchez to the Old Town location and father daughter team JK and David Drummond to the new location in the NE Heights.

Alchemy: Collage & Assemblage featuring artists from New Mexico and around the country opens at 516 ARTS (www.516arts.org) April 12 and continues through May 31. Also showing will be Snap Crackle Pop!, an exhibition of drawings featuring New Mexico artists curated by Kathryn M. Davis. Both exhibitions explore the vocabulary of popular culture.

September 2008 - Local Treasures Month in Albuquerque

Local Treasures, a month-long celebration of local art and artists, features a wide variety of shows and other arts events including a reception for 12 featured artists on September 21, 2pm at the Albuquerque Museum near Old Town. Enjoy music and meet these exceptional artists.

Albuquerque’s GO Festival of contemporary art comes to Downtown Albuquerque Sept. 26-28.

There will be month-long exhibitions at member galleries as well including:

In the downstairs showroom will be Ruth Morris with her soft sculpture/dolls.
