May’s exhibition at the Inpost highlights the works of four New Mexican women artists; Molly Geissman, Holly Roberts, Debi Dodge and Emily Trovillion. Molly Geissman’s work is primarily non-objective, brightly colored abstracts that convey a sense of spontaneous action while contemplating the simplicity of being. “I am obsessed with the organic circular…fascinated by line and marks made by the soul of the hand.” Holly Roberts’ mixed media paintings illuminate montages of everyday life immersed in a kinetic body of abstract expression. Debi Dodge works in the monotype medium and more recently with encaustics, depicting imagery inspired by her travels and observations of the natural world. Emily Trovillion’s compositions provide a landscape where she explores and exploits the natural world.“Nature has a logic that as a race of beings we flaunt. I want to paint about that interface and the carnival - like aspect of a near future world.”
