Beyond Behind Below: Abstract Paintings by Raul Dorn opens First Friday and runs through Feb. 27
. Dorn’s vibrant, yet slightly whimsical, abstract paintings often start with collaged sewing patterns. The resulting images sometime retain the arrows and track marks, but Dorn’s use of semi-organic shapes and bold lines transform them into pathways that lead to a deeper and more metaphysical realm. Dorn lives and works in Las Cruces, and this is his first solo show in Albuquerque. Matrix is proud to introduce this outstanding artist to our area.
