NORTHEAST HEIGHTS GALLERIES

Albuquerque didn’t extend east farther than the University of New Mexico until after World War II but the area called the “Heights” now extends from Sandia Pueblo on the north to Central Avenue on the South and from San Mateo Blvd. on the west to the Sandia Mountain foothills on the east.
An aerial tramway stretches 2.7 miles up into the Sandia Mountains with the longest span of any tram in North America and the third longest of any in the world. Other than the Uptown business development, the Heights is primarily residential with fine galleries, restaurants and shops sprinkled throughout.
