MORE ABOUT AABA

While Artscrawl and First Friday are AABA's most visible projects, behind the scenes AABA is working hard to educate the public about art and promote Albuquerque as an art destination. Classes are periodically offered at UNM Continuing Education for those of you who are interested in learning more about art but don't want to go gallery hopping alone. The courses provide an overview of Albuquerque's art venues, festivals, public events and centers for learning with guest speakers and a guided field trip/tour utilizing the monthly Artscrawl event. AABA is also involved in special projects such as the exhibition of work by  young artists in the "Art in the School" program; juried shows of work by APS high school students in galleries along Central Avenue, and other programs such as the Art Education Minute, and the “Art in Albuquerque” brochure produced in 2005

Barb Belknap of the Signpost, Gary Tibbets of Weyrich Gallery and Colgate Craig of Framing Concepts jury student artwork for the 4th annual Art in the  School exhibit in the Northeast Heights.
